FAQ

Q: At what age should I start teaching my child to read?

A:  This is an extremely important question and one that every parent should ask.  The answer is: it depends.  All children develop at different times and at different paces.  The best answer we can offer is: You should teach your child to read when he or she is ready.

Q:  How do I know when my child is ready to start learning to read?

A:  For most children, you can start with our phonetic awareness activities around the age of 3.  The most important point to remember though is that you do not want to frustrate your child.  If he or she shows signs of discomfort with these types of games because of an inability to understand or inability to give "correct" answers, back off for a while.

Q: Do I need any special software or hardware for this program?

A: No.  All you need is a connection to the internet.  The website and the lessons within is designed to be simple as possible, requiring nothing more than basic software that is found on most smart devices.

Q:  Is it reasonable to expect to teach a child to read in 6 months?

A: The short answer is no.  However, it depends on where your child is developmentally when he or she begins the program.
